Winter special: Anti-depression
As the days grow shorter and shorter, and the time of the year, darker and darker, a human being's need for sunlight and sunny colors grows more and more urgent. That's the reason behind my "winter special" gallery: I've decided to offer you a selection of my sunniest and brightest paintings, dominated by warm and joyful reds, oranges and yellows. Some of them are fully soaked in the burning colors of sun, others have some darker and colder spots to underline and offset the dominant colors. Still, they will all work as a natural cure for winter blues which threaten to overwhelm us as we wait for the solstice, the seasonal holidays, the year's turn towards new spring. If you are feeling sad and depressed, please try and browse this gallery, let the sunny colors wash over you, enjoy the remembrances of summer encapsulated in these pieces; if you are feeling fine, please browse the gallery nonetheless: there is never too much of this. All of my high-resolution images here are offered under Creative Commons Non-Commercial license, and they are large enough for small prints – if you want one for yourself, just download it and find some place to print it. And in case you might want one of the originals to bring these colors to your home and work as your permanent anti-depressant, these paintings are also offered for sale as my website winter special. I am no stranger to depression, and the sunny colors remedy worked best for me; I truly hope it might work for you, as well. Trust me, the anti-depressive effect is much stronger from the original!
